Horizon Europe is the EU’s research funding programme which has a total allocation of €95.5 billion over a seven-year period starting this year. The programme is multi-faceted, covering the gamut of R&I disciplines, sometimes close to market, sometimes far back, while driven by the overarching political objectives of the European Union. There will be regular calls for proposals over the seven-year period from 2021-2027.
IRLOGI believes that many of the calls will have a location/geospatial component and thus there will be opportunities for our Irish geospatial companies and public sector bodies to get involved. However, it is not only about securing funds to do exciting things, it is also very much about establishing networks across Europe.
Michael will deal with the following matters:
- An overview of the programme;
- The types of funding which are available;
- The funding areas which could be of most relevance to Irish companies in the geospatial sector;
- Opportunities for public sector bodies;
- The programme of calls in 2021 by the European Commission and how best to track them;
- Best practice regarding the composition of consortia and the structure/content of proposals;
- Highlighting real-world practicalities of becoming involved;
- How submissions are evaluated;
- Possible support from Enterprise Ireland.
