Connectivity Analysis at the National Transport Authority
The National Transport Authority (NTA) have been focusing on connectivity analysis for a number of years. The intention was to provide a set of tools for use by Government Bodies and Local Authorities to assess access at the local area to public transport and services.
To date the NTA has developed two processes for this purpose. Public Transport Accessibility Levels (PTAL) calculate how well connected an area is to public transport, and the Accessibility to Opportunities and Services (ATOS) tool calculates how well an area is connected to its local services. Both tools can serve as a guide to Local Authority Planning teams, notably when they are preparing Local Transport Plans

Using GeoDirectory for Irish Building Stock Observatory (IBSO) Research
The Irish Building Stock Observatory (IBSO) is funded by MaREI - the Research Ireland Centre for Energy Climate and Marine, to provide a better understanding of the energy performance of the building sector through reliable, consistent and comparable data and to share knowledge between those engaged in buildings and energy research. Currently, the IBSO team is leveraging the commercial buildings data from GeoDirectory to develop building archetypes for commercial buildings in Ireland which will be used to generate energy stock models using machine learning.
