This is the twentieth year of the GeoView Irish Commercial Property Report. Issued this morning, the report provides an analysis of the commercial building stock across Ireland.

In this second publication since the onset of COVID-19, the report explores the geographical and sectoral impacts of the pandemic on commercial property. Policy supports have so far mitigated any severe deterioration in commercial vacancy rates, although rates have increased in all 14 counties in Munster, Connacht and Ulster over the past year. Unsurprisingly, the most significant falls in occupancy rates have been in those sectors with a high dependence on face-to-face contact or physical interaction.

To find out more about the performance of the commercial property sector last year, join us for a 30 minute review of the key findings from the report on Tuesday 2nd March at 12 noon.

Annette Hughes, Economic Advisory Services Director at Ernst & Young, will take us through the presentation, and will be joined by Dara Keogh, CEO and Dominic Fahey, CTO, both of GeoDirectory, who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

After what can only be described as a most peculiar year where nothing was as it should be, there is hope that the widespread deployment of vaccines nationwide will facilitate a phased reopening of businesses sooner rather than later, and with it a gradual economic recovery.
